BEHIND THE MUSIC

EJ is a gigging drummer and private teacher with a passion for music. Raised in Seattle, he is familiar with the Seattle music scene, gigging weekly and participating in over 5 active bands. He has had the opportunity to play in Vancouver BC, Idaho, New Orleans Louisiana, and Washington state at venues such as Jazz Alley, the Paramount Theater, and Capitol Theatre. He has also played alongside acclaimed musicians such as Helen Sung, Milo Peterson, Tim Carey, Chuck Deardorf, and Anton Shwartz. He currently attends the University of Washington - Seattle.

For the third straight year, Edmonds-Woodway High School’s Jazz Ensemble I under the direction of Jake Bergevin has been selected as the overall festival sweepstakes best band at the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival.
